ORTHEIA BARNES & MILLIE SCOTT

Individually or together, singers Ortheia Barnes and Millie Scott have been mesmerizing audiences in Detroit and from around the world for over 35 years.  Both vocalists have been blessed with the versatility to sing jazz, R&B, gospel, disco and everything in between.  Since the 1960s, Barnes has recorded such hit songs as, “I Need Him,” “Touched,” “I Really Love the Lord” and more…  Barnes has also performed for numerous world leaders, including Nelson Mandela, Bishop Desmond Tutu and Pope John Paul, II.  In addition, Barnes has performed and recorded with living legend, Aretha Franklin on several occasions.  Likewise, Millie Scott has also performed and recorded with “The Queen of Soul,” as well as with Al Green.  As a solo artist, Scott has recorded such hit singles as, “Love Me Right,”  “Every Little Bit” and more…  Additionally, she was a one-time member of the singing group, “Quiet Elegance” that toured with The Temptations and The Spinners.  In 1980, Barnes and Scott teamed to form the group, “Cut Glass.”  The collaboration proved to be highly successful, as the dynamic duo cranked out and charted several monster international dance songs, such as, “Alive with Love,” “Without Your Love,” “I Took His Money” and “Rising Cost of Love.”  Barnes and Scott continue to be major forces (individually and together) on the national and international music scene.
